Chris Besse

  • Nickname-
    Besse. Crash. Bleeder.
  • Favorite healthy food-
    Chipotle is healthy right?
  • Favorite unhealthy food-
Doughnuts. No, pizza. No, ice cream. Definitely ice cream.
  • Favorite workout music-
Depends on the type of workout. I’ve learned to enjoy irish drinking songs and Marysa and Cait’s booty shaking music.
  • Favorite way to spend a Saturday night-
Riding my motorcycle or hanging around a bonfire.
  • What I do to recover-
I go to Dr Jim every weeks and tell him “fix me”. Does that count?
  • Favorite CrossFit movement-
The Snatch. Because it’s such a balance between strength and technique and just when you think you have it figured out you see somebody who actually knows what they’re doing and realize you have a long way to go. Also…it’s called a snatch…
  • Favorite Legacy moment-
So hard to pick just one. The Open is always a fun time because it’s like a competition every week but you really see everyone cheering for and supporting each other.
  • Favorite restaurant-
    The Rail
  • Favorite quote-
There isn’t enough room to type the Declaration of Independance in it’s entirety, so I will go with “Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t, and believe that everything happens for a reason.” -Dr Seuss
  • One word to describe you-
Sarchotic. I knew I was going to get to use that word one day!
  • Meet anyone – who and why-
  • Best gift ever received-
Maybe premature but I’m going to say my new niece who is going to be born this weekend!
  • Best advice ever received-
“You’ll pass out before you die” -B Yoak
  • Biggest pet peeve-
People who are overly picky…also bad drivers.
  • Weird fact-
The medical term for a butt crack is the “intergluteal cleft”…or if this is supposed to be a fact about me, I can dislocate my left thumb at will.
  • Something random-
I have only broken one bone in my life. I was doing Turkish Get-ups in a warmup and dropped a kettlebell on my thumb and crushed it. It made workouts a little more difficult for a month or two.
