Michelle Gainer: The totals

Well Margie and I finished my taxes for 09. All of my numbers will go to the accountant tomorrow. I am grateful for the year that I had in Mary Kay and my health. One year ago my TMJ was so bad I could not even open my mouth. My shoulder had been injured in the fall at a gym that I was going to that had no supervision. (Hint…there is a song about it) I started with Dr. Husser in January to correct these problems without surgery. My shoulder would not stay in its socket. The Dr. would “push” it back into the joint when this would happen. I will admit that I did slip and say the F word when he did this for the first time. It was so painful. The TMJ was manually set too. Have you ever had your jaw set? Not fun. My out of pocket expense for this past year was 3022.01 paid to Dr. Husser. Was it worth it? You bet. What made the difference was when I started in Crossfit in August. I informed Brian of my injuries and he worked with me and modified everything so I could heal….and get stronger. During this time my Dr. made the comment “I respect your trainer, he has definitely changed your body without hurting you one time” Brain used me as an example to one class….he had me lay on the ground and he showed them how my shoulder would not lay flat. Overhead squats were out of the question. I can do them now! Sometimes when I get frustrated and feel like it is not moving quickly enough I need to remember where I came from. No shoulder adjustments in 4 months–no jaw adjustments for either. Progress Michelle, not perfection. That’s my motto. Some people have alluded to the fact that Crossfit is expensive….Well add up the numbers. The cost of that gym was 50 per month. When I add in all the medical fees associated with no trainer, no supervision, no encouragement, and no results it comes up to 301.84 per month. Not to mention the time and energy.

This is what you will get with Brian Yoak at Crossfit:

We’re not your average “$50/month” gym.

We’re nothing like a $50/month gym.

CrossFit workouts are an event that you must experience to understand.

Our members say things like

“I can’t believe I wasted all that money at a regular gym.”

and, “I can’t ever imagine going back to a regular gym”

or, “I am doing things I never thought I would be able to do.”

Our high school/collegiate athletes are more fit and stronger than their teammates. They have more power, endurance, agility and have fewer injuries than their competitors.

If money is all you look at, then you may be missing out.    Because you have to ask yourself, “Am I willing to pay a little more now, so that I can do the things I want to later, or do I want to pay less, and still be in the same situation in 5 years?”

It’s your choice.

Why settle for less?

Really.  You get what you pay for!!
