Are You Afraid of Competition?

Monday, August 31st, 2009

The following is taken from Crossfit.com:   It was posted by “bingo”–Crossfit Legend and big thinker extraordinaire!!!
Competition. Does it seem to you, as it does to me, that being openly competitive is frowned upon? That wanting to win, that being willing to do whatever it takes within the rules to win, has somehow become declasse? It’s [...]

No…those are not the numbers I picked for the Lottery this weekend.
Those are the numbers of people who have attended our Free classes the past 3 weeks!
“They just keep coming” was a statement from someone today as 9am rolled around and the class was getting ready to start!
Our Saturday classes are geared to the new [...]

Driven!!!

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Friday used to be our Partner WOD day.   Not having performed this style of workout for a while at Crossfit Legacy, I decided to ressurect this fun way of training!
20 min….this is all the longer we worked out today.
But our athletes put forth amazing efforts.
Driven….that is what I would call our efforts today.   [...]

Power Cleans and 400m Run

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Ok, the first three days of the week entailed that our athletes perform some max lifts and efforts.
The next few days will be more of a combination of training all 3 metabolic pathways….phosphagen, glycolitic, and aerobic!
There was some great efforts today as all of the athletes put forth great effort!
Hands down, this workout really sucked, [...]

Max Pull-ups and 500m Rowing Intervals

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

After a few days of moving large loads, our athletes were excited to move only their body weight.   At least I think
they were excited!
Maybe not!
Gymnastic movements are a key component to what we do in Crossfit, and mastering the basic pull-up is essential.
Cool thing is, we are a training center, not a SHOW-OFF Center.   [...]

Today We Are Going Overhead!!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Yesterday we pulled!
Today we are pushing!!
Today’s strength move was the push jerk.
What an exciting lift to watch. The ability to push weight overhead is essential to life and frequently an untrained skill at most “globo-gyms”.
At CrossFit Legacy we love to get under the bar, and our athletes did not dissappoint today!!
Workout of the [...]

We Like to Lift Heavy Things!!!

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Heavy deadlifts and a 10min version of Cindy greeted our athletes today when they walked in the doors to Crossfit Legacy!
It was great to watch the athletes cheer for the attempts they were making on the deadlifts, and the yells and applause that followed successful lifts was inspiring?
That is one of the many joys that [...]
